Longwood Gardens Christmas 2018

Longwood Gardens continues its well-deserved reputation for superlatives this Christmas season, with lights, Christmas trees, designs and music throughout the more than 1,000 acres of beauty.

Don’t be lulled into thinking the half-million lights are the only attraction. The conservatory is loaded with color–and lights– showing the ingenuity of the garden’s 1,500 employees. Orchids, waterfalls, Christmas trees decorated by local schools, and a play area for kids make this a stop worth making.  And, it’s welcome relief to the season’s frigid temperatures.

All pathways are paved and wheelchair accessible.

Longwood Gardens is 70 miles from York, or a 90 minute drive. To get there, take US route 30 east for 43 miles. Take state route 41 south for 16 miles to US route 1 north, and follow the signs from there.

All  Longwood Christmas tickets are timed, including members. The best bet is to buy tickets online. Visitors can purchase tickets at the door but if that time slot is sold out, they would wait until the next opening– if one comes up. Tickets for non-peak days are $23 and $30 for peak days.outdoor tree lineyup
